Where is there a good island in the Caribbean to move to?

I am definately a water person, and I have always exercised the idea of finding an island in the tropics to move to.

I really don't know.  Man it should would be beautiful, but I'm worried that it would be taken over or already was taken for by tourists.  That's one bad thing about the beautiful places they cost a lot and there's usually a lot of people there.

Here's a good place to find out which island is for you:

I'm pretty sure they are all surrounded by water and suit your needs.

Well, I know someone who went on holiday to Jamaica, and ended up living there for two years!

I haven't actually been to Jamaica myself, but I have heard that it is quite interesting, especially if you are into the music scene - I think that they have quite a few music festivals.

The downside that I have heard about is that the crime rate is rather high, so you have to be careful.

Indeed, my friend's sister went there for her honeymoon. Word was that the area where she was staying was really nice, but the guests were not supposed to leave that area due to crime, violence, and everything else in that category.

I would think that living in the Caribbean could get rather expensive, depending on the island of course. Since they have to import everything, wouldn't costs for things like food be sky-high?

Visiting an all-inclusive is fun, but it doesn't give you much of an idea of what things cost! lol

Living somewhere can be a world of difference from visiting. Earning a living is always an issue, unless one has the advantage of an independent income.

My friend who lived in Jamaica for a couple of years ended up returning to his native Japan, and opening up a highly successful Jamaican-style bar.
