Well, it's finally 2007 (I first typed 2307..yikes!) and I'm starting to plan (mentally only at this point) my Florida trip for this year. We're *really* wanting to find an alternate route so there isn't as much I95 travel, but I just don't know how that's going to work out.  Where's the best place to stop between Philly and the Golden Isles for a day of fun?  (Please don't say Pedros South of the Border... been there, done that, got too many t-shirts! hehe) 

Oh my goodness!  I know this isn't what you asked but reading your post brought back a memory... We stopped at Pedro's South of the Border (I believe) on our class trip, on the way to Atlanta, GA. That was a loooooooong time ago. LOL

Where are the Golden Isles? I'm interested in the Gulf Coast (Destin, Ft. Walton Beach) for our FL vacation this year. I've seen pictures of spectacular beaches there. Or maybe Key West...

    My first time down along good 'ol 95 was a bus trip and we stopped there, too.  Since that time,

I've stopped there every time we drive to Florida.  Why?  I don't know... I'd have to say because it's

tradition, I suppose.  It's definitely NOT to use their restrooms... that is a nasty, nasty memory!

     The Golden Isles are coastal Georgia, not Florida.  The best are St. Simons Island (where I'll be

stopping this time)  and Jekyll Island (where I won't.) 

Well you know there is so much to do in Florida.  There are the beaches and shopping.  Of course there is Disney, Orlando, Bush Gardens.  I have always enjoyed trips down there. 

Well, it's one more week of waiting for me until the school is over and we are gone to Miami!!!  This year spring break is longer than usual (my son has to be back in school on the 12th of April) so it will be almost 2 weeks of vacation, working vacation I must add. We will make a stop in Orlando on the way back as well.

Only a week now!  You must be soooo excited!  I still have seven months to go until I can breath that glorious Florida air again and even *that* has me excited.  :-)  Working vacation is cool if there's enough time for fun, too.  Will you be seeing Key West this time?

Well that sounds all kinds of glorious and more than a little exciting!  No plans here for us to move there, but I'm really getting into planning for this fall's trip.  I wish there'd be someplace near St. Augustine (which will be "homebase") for a day trip or two.  If I'd be a little more adventurous, we would drive across the state to St. Pete to get a couple of Biff Burgers but I guess it won't happen.

Yeap, spending time at the beach as much as possible.  Weather is awesome this year, 80-81 during the day and 71-72 at night. Like clockwork. No humidity yet so it's absolutely perfect.

Thats exactly why I'm trying to go because of the weather, it's awesome, I loe the springy feel thats already my favorite time of the year. I want to go to all of the clubs and drink the whole vacation,lol. Outside of disney land of course.

We're not actually beach people at all, no.     There IS a St. Augustine beach, and many others near

it, but we are history people and St. Augustine is crawling with that!  Florida is World... You might be

there now!  Or if you're back already, how was your trip?  Did you see glorious EPCOT?!
