No. I have either travelled on trains that had a buffet cart, and so bought a sandwich there, or I have carried my own food. Only other for me was travelling first class, and the food, drink, beer, was all included. They even carried my bags!

Wow really, so how much did your first class ticket run for? I bet it had to have been around 300 dollars.

It was $137 per person, each way. That was from New York to Washington DC.

I usually buy a light snack on the train (and yes, train food is expensive) then just eat when I get to my destination.

Man Brit that ticket was high as heck. Your travel wasn't even that long and you still spent that much money, that is crazy.

    Re: Train and food

I used to bring my own food and drinks. Sometimes I ordered in a fast food first before riding on train. Sometimes foods inside the train are not delicious to eat.

I'm not extravagant hopes to travel all over Europe, but I love my trips in Spain. It is a beautiful country, and cities like mallorca spain and tarragona spain are all unforgettable. I'd love to go back for awhile. If you're in Barcelona be sure to check out the Picasso museum as well and the best way to get around Spain is by train. But I want to travel through all of Europe, it's my dream!

    Re: Train and food

I find train food is rather over priced, but I didn't know that they would let you bring on your own food.  All I have done is taken snacks with me (but I haven't been on long train rides either.)  Does anyone else feel that train food is over priced?  Do the train people mind if you bring on food or do you conceal it?
