    Disney Trip-How Old?

I have a friend who is itching to take me and my daughter to Disney. The little tyke is just too young right now for there to be any real joy to this-it would be a huge journey for nothing really and I am not ready to do that.

For those of you who have been, what is a good age to make a first trip there? When do kids start getting pleasure from what is on offer?

First time we went there when our kids were 3 and 2.  They did like it but not as much as last (4 and 3) and this year (5 and 4).  This year they started crying hysterically when we told them that the park is closing. And for about a week they've kept asking us about our next trip to Mickey Mouse.  Make sure not to go during Summer or your child might get a heatstroke.

Given that my funds are not entirely flowing right now, I think that I need to wait at least a couple of years. It seems that there are so many other things that I can do with her for far less money that she will enjoy far more right now, that there is just no point making such a big trip. Thanks.

I think the best age to start having adventure in Disney for me is 7 years old up. Disney is such a nice place to travel. In that age, kids will never forget their happy moments in Disney.

Our first trip to Disney wasn't until my daughter was older, so she actually enjoyed EPCOT more than

the Magic Kingdom.  I think 2 and 3 might be too young for much enjoyment.  I'd think 4 or 5 would

be the ideal age but maybe a little older if having them retain the memories is important to you.

Maybe a 4 year old will be able to keep the memories but I have a feeling that age 5 or 6 would

    be better for that.

I took my sisters when they were six years old and they loved it.  They were old enough to enjoy it and stand the tiring nature of huge parks like DIsney.  There are lots of things you need to plan for with six year olds still so I probably would not take kids that were any younger than that.  It has been a couple years since we went and they don't remember much except that they had lots of fun and that they want to go back, so we probably will in the next year or so.

Even if they're too young to take some of the rides, they'll probably enjoy it. When I first went I was probably around 5 and my brother 2. The only problem with taking the really young'uns is that they may not remember the experience at all!
