    Prince Edward Island

Years ago, I travelled to Prince Edward Island in the dead of winter and also in the middle of the summer.

Back then it didn't seem like there were any major attractions, other than the beautiful countryside, beaches and the people.

I think that there's an annual "Anne of Green Gables" festival or something like that to stage the play. I understand it's hugely popular in Japan, and there are tours chartered specifically for it.

Has anyone here been to PEI?

No I haven't but I would love to go to the Anne of Green Gables festival.  My sisters and I loved the books and the movies, I am sure they would go with me and love to spend some time where it all happened.

Speaking of Anne of Green Gables, a prequel TV movie was shot last year in Toronto by the same producer who made the other shows.

I'm not sure where and when it will air, and I don't think they actually shot on location in PEI.

I'm not particularly keen on the festival itself, but I learned about Prince Edward Island through the Anne series, and the photos I've seen of the towns and sights are so beautiful, I would love to visit sometime. I was never a big enthusiast about Canada, but PEI would make a great destination one day.

The people are very friendly there and it's a beautiful place.

Charlottetown is the capital of PEI and it's smaller than I expected.
