I've been hearing all over the news about the issues with illegal immigrants and the US tightening down on immigration policies.  Does anyone know if this is going to make travel TO Mexico more of a hassle as well?

I doubt there will be any problems.  It will be hard for illegal immigrants to cross the border into US but not for us to go to Mexico.  Travel is a big part of Mexico's economy and they surely will not change anything to make it harder for people to travel there.

I wouldn't think there would be.  Just...be sure you have all your documents and stuff handy when you're getting ready to come back! 

Absolutely.  I suggest caring a Passport every time you leave the country.  Not to mention it will be a requirement soon including Mexico and Canada

Hmm.  I thought a passport was already required?  Then again, I've never been out of the country, so what do I know?

It doesn't seem like travelling to Mexico should be a problem. Especially since, if I understood this correctly, Mexican airports are privately owned and not regulated by the govenment.
