    Walk like an Egyption

One of the first civiliztions and empires existed in Egypt. I think I would certainly like to go there. Too bad, though, that so much was lost because of the tomb raiders and wars. Oddly enough, I do not know anything about the current language there.

As far as I am aware they speak Arabic.  My parents went there in 1984 and they were extremely happy with the trip.

my husband's cousin (male, 30's today) went to Egypt maybe 5 years ago and was particularly happy with the experience.  apparently his trip happened just after a rather large terrorist attack in the region, so he was able to visit all of the things he wanted to see with no waiting and lots of personal attention from the locals.  guards even let him in restricted areas and took pics of him.  he never once felt unsafe.  said the locals took particularly good care of him and he still believes the culture respects their tourism industry to the point of being overly protective of visitors.

That's too bad that a person has to keep the thought of terrorism in mind when considering such a nice place.

Yes, it certainly is too bad.  I really don't see it changing, though, and it will

most likely alway be that way now.  Sad

I haven't been myself, but I do know that they definitely speak Arabic. This is because I have studied Arabic, and Egyptian Arabic is often held up as being the standard form of the language.
