i dont go on to many bus trips..
usually if i do, its just between montreal and toronto.

but we always stop at tim hortons, and i get myself a big cup of black coffee and a couple of glazed donuts :)

its more fun this way..i hate packing food.

When possible, I prefer to bring my own food, but not eat it until the bus stops.... I HATE eating while in a moving vehicle.

I would go for both. you can only take some much. I mean you can only carry so many items on the bus with you before you begin to feel cramped. Its good to have snacks on the bus and money for the stops as well.

I would always carry my own food. I do this for flights that are too short for you to be served food too. My diet is just too restricted to rely on service stations and McDonald's to serve my needs.

can you carry food on a flight i thought you couldnt bring food on flights?

I've done so. It may against the rules, but I can tell you that baby food is permitted for sure by at least continental as were child friendly snacks. I've never heard anyone say you can't BUT they may tell you that if it's an item that customs at your destination won't allow that you have to consume it or leave it on the plane.

Eating on bus trips is sometimes uncomfortable for me. I don't have the appetite to eat if I smell bad inside the bus. Have you encountered having a bad breath seatmate during bus trips?

Yes, I've had smelly seat mates. It's not the most appetising thing is it! Not much I could do but wait for them to leave.

I think there are still buses in nowadays who maintain the cleanliness for the benefit of the passengers but the fare is a liitle bit expensive. I guess it's better at least you'll be comfortable on your trip.

Most of the time you do want to pack yourself something because you don't want to risk getting sick just in case you do run into some bad service or food but some people don't have the luxury of doing that.

You cannot always live your life in fear of getting sick from food that someone else prepared. Restaurants and in fact anywhere that sells food has to be inspected and has to meet certain standards before they can operate. Yes, problems do occur, but they are the exception not the rule.

There are so many restaurant in my countryroads. The foods never get inspected. Actually most of the foods are prepared the previous days. I've been sick because of those foods. So I rarely eat the foods in such restaurants.

I would take my own food with me.  There are many reasons with the most important for me being that it is more affordable to take my own and because I know the food is safe that way. 

I'd never considered the possibility of food poisoning from a service station - the ones I stop at are always parts of large chains and you can be pretty sure that what you'll be getting is hygenic - if nothing else! Still, I prefer not to spend their prices all the same.

I've gotten sick one time after eating on the bus or not on the bus but on one of the stops, Then make it so bad I had to ride another 12 hours while I was throwing up. I think it was food posioning.
