I love sushi.  I've never been to Japan but I am sure they know how to make sushi Wink  The best sushi place I've been to is Sushi Siam in Miami on Lincoln Road. My favorites are volcano roll, seafood ceviche and sashimi.  If you are in Miami I suggest you visit that place.  You will not be disappointed.

I'm craving now. Hope to visit that place soon. I'm not from Japan but I stayed in Tokyo for two weeks. Their sushi really taste good. I'm planning to go back Japan next year not just to eat sushi but for business purpose.

Oh yes, I like sushi very much!  I've not had any of it in Japan, but I'll bet it's even better there, yes!

I had some on Saturday... four different kinds and they were all so good that I couldn't choose a favorite.

Good to hear that you like sushi Destiny. I have a friend who don't like the taste of it. I'm planning to make my own sushi. I hae the complete recipe from a friend. I hope I'll get it right.

Faremax, is that Lincoln Road in South Beach?  If so, I believe I've been there, though it was over five years ago, so it could have been either a different place, or a different name.

Also, at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL there is an excellent sushi place.  I'm pretty sure it's called Tatu, though I'm not completely certin.  Anyway, it's the only one in that complex.  My cousin saw Steven Tyler from Aerosmith there last time she went.

By the way, I just had sushi tonight!!!!  Spicy Yellowfin Roll and Raw Scallop.  It was Marvelous!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeap, that's the one.  They actually have few locations.  On Lincoln Road, on 163rd in Sunny Isles, on Hallandale Blvd and I think one more (not sure where).  The one on Lincoln is the best.  IMO they have better sushi than in Tamoe and Nobu in NYC.

Yes, you are correct but I can't say I liked that Tatu place very much.  It's ok for a casino I guess.

I wanted to buy all the things to make it including the bamboo mat for rolling... never actually got

around to doing it, though.  I like the kinds with the rice on the outside better than if the seaweed is

on the outside, but that kind seems more difficult to roll.

Oooh!  I don't especially like yellowfin, but the scallop variety sounds wonderful!  I may just have to

    grab some tomorrow again.  Smile

(Hmmm.... I remembered posting to this before, maybe it got lost so I'll try again...)

That's quite high praise, Faremax.... Nobu is one of my favorite sushi places.  I'm from NY, so I've been there many times.  My old boss and I have been known to spend many dinner hours there.  I'm planning a trip to Miami for early January, and may be setting up a work-related appt. with a contact not far from South Beach.  Perhaps I'll make my way to Sushi Siam... Thanks a million!!!!

Yeah, I know what you mean Smile My favorite sushi places in NY are definitely Nobu and Tamoe but wait until you try Sushi Siam.  Plus they offer Thai as well.

I have never eaten Sushi anywhere!  Embarrassed  I'm not too fond of Japanese foods.  I do like Cashew Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken but that's about it.  I guess I'm in the minority.

No, not really.  I know quite a few people who don't eat sushi.  Both my parents and in-laws don't even want to hear that word no matter what.  They just used to eating their kind of food and scared of trying something new.  I tried explaining that not all sushi are raw but still they don't want to try it.

Every time I try to talk to a non-sushi eater about it, I get that, too... "eeew, raw fish!"  And I say it doesn't have to be raw, some of it isn't and it's very good.  But I've kind of given up because no one listens. Smile
