    Re: Mini-Bar?

Well, if my budget allows it, I like to splurge once in a while. I tried that once when I was staying at Riad in Marrakech.

If it is at all possible, I try and visit a variety store before heading into my hotel room for the evening.  Even though variety stores are generally more expensive when it comes to snack goods, they are nothing when it is compared to a mini-bar.  I find them way over priced, but if for you, money is not an issue, then why not?

Back when I was an employee and sent to places by work I would use the minibar, but now it's my own money I don't.

I've never seen a mini bar with snacks though, only drinks.

These days I bring drinks back to the room, or eat out - it's cheaper, and lets you enjoy the area you're staying in a lot more.

Exactly. Now that it's my money, I don't use it. They overcharge way too much. Usually I try not to open them because if I do, I may be tempted to consume a Snickers bar or two, but a lot of times I have to use it to put my water bottles, etc in.

I usually don't dip into the minibar, but there have been some nights.  I would rather buy full size items at the local grocery store and bring them back.  COsts a lot less and I have more than the mini bar could ever offer.
