    Dream vacation

I don't see this topic anywhere, and I think it's worthy of discussion! If money were no object, nor work or family ties, what vacation would you take?

For what it's worth I'd take one of the low Earth Orbit commercial space shuttle rides.

    Re: Dream vacation

My greatest dream is to travel around the world just like doing expedition together with my love ones. I think it's enough for me.

Ever thought of trying to do the "Around the World in 80 Days" type tour? The thing that follows the journey of Phelias Fogg in the Jules Verne movie?

I think I'd like the challenge of doing that without the modern day travelling techniques such as flying.

Explore Ancient Civilizations. I'm talking South America and Africa mainly and it would have to be on a budget. There's no sense (in my dream vacation) staying at a fancy hotel. Risk and danger are a must!

I can definately see the attraction to that. Like your desires to do Machu Pichu, the ancient Americas hold a huge facination for me, especially the cultures that were so far ahead in maths or science so very long ago.

I would love to Egypt, and more than anything, would love for someone to find an Atlantis type place! Failing that, I'd take ancient Alexandria.

I might get to do my dream holiday this year, although it will be a working holiday.

5 days in Germany, 2 weeks in LA, and 2 weeks in Tokyo one after the other :)

Tokyo would be fun. Seems like you're hitting opposite sides of the cultural spectrum :).

There is no way in the world I could be without my own bed for that long. Only time I have managed a month away was when I stayed at my parents house, and technically it WAS my bed, before I moved out.

Mine would definitely be one of those fantastic cruises. In the past when airplane travel was not as stable or common, people used to travel by ship. They would have plenty of entertainment there and interacting with the passengers used to be one of them. I think that experience would be one of a kind.
