    Taking own food at vacation.

I get sick of my local foods when I am in long vacation. So I pack the local foods with my luggage if its possible. Do you ever take foods with you? Dont you miss your local foods in vacation?

Actually, I am normally  happy to leave the American foods behind. I am British, and the food here is hard to stomach. I miss my European foods so badly that any time I can be there, I lap it up.

I take my own chocolates and chewing gum - most other countries don't seem to do confectionary in the same style. I don't take other foods though - I don't have the space to pack them usually, and I prefer fresh salads, etc, so they wouldn't keep anyway.

You're right-the choclate here is very different. I am a Cadbury girl, like lots of milk in my chocolate and not so much sugar. The common choc here is Hershey-it hasn't the milk of Cadbury so it is gritty and has a more bitter taste-and way too much sugar. Gum I can make do, but what I REALLY want is a Galaxy!

MMM, Galaxy :) I actually like Hersheys peanut butter chocolate cake things, but that's the only Hersheys stuff I like. I developed a taste for Bawls candy when I was in LA last time, shame I never got to sample the soda.

Do you mean Reece's pieces? They are pretty nice, now that I have learned to like peanut butter.

I didn't mean Reeces Pieces (although I guess they are OK too) - the Peanut butter things are a little smaller than jam tarts, and they come in packs of two in an orange wrapper.  They are almost solid chocolate, but have a layer of peanut butter in them.

Next time I'm in Woolworths I'll make an excact note of the name.

I may take snacks to eat on the plane or if I'm traveling by car, to eat while driving. But one of the things I love most about traveling is tasting all the food of the region so I don't worry too much about missing food.

When I am going on really out there trips and I am rworried about not having the food I need tfor the trip I will take some along.  But this is only on outward bound types of trips where I know food stores will be far and few between.

Otherwise I eat the local food, as that is all a part of the experience.

I'm a flexible traveller. I can eat different variety of food as long as it's safe. If you'll travel in Asian countries, you'll never regret because there are many choices of food in there. Why not try the seafoods in the Philippines?
