    Hotel products.

When you stay at a hotel do you use the soap, shampoo, and other supplies found in the room? Or do you prefer to use your own products?

    Re: Hotel products.

I always use whatever they provide.  My wife likes using her own things, however.

    Re: Hotel products.

I used to have my own soap, shampoo and toothpaste. I used to bring my own personal belongings. The Hotel products in my room served as a souvenir. I used to bring it home or gave it to my friends and relatives.

I'm like Shinningstar! I can't use a lot of stuff because of allergies, so I tend to carry my own and then take home what is there. There are always friends or relatives who are taking road trips that could use things like that.

I remembered one time I travelled Japan. I forgot to bring my facial foam. I don't have any choice at all so I used the soap provided by the Hotel. A day after using that soap, I got multiple of pimples on my face. I promised myself not to used any Hotel products anymore.

I've also used hotel products couple of times. But I never have such problems. I am quite good on that I think.

    Re: Hotel products.

I usually use my own products.  And I do not like hotel bar soap.  So I take my own soap and/or shower gel with me when I go away and know I will be staying in a hotel.

    Re: Hotel products.

I use the hotel soap for washing my hands, but I use my own shampoo and shower gel. I think the soap is OK, but I find that quite often the other products dry my skin.

    Re: Hotel products.

I bring my own items, the soaps is never big enough and plus I just like using my own things. It always feels better.  I figure if I'm going to pack my toothpaste because they don't supply that I might as well supply all the rest of the things that I need.

Agreed, Randle - plus not all hotels supply the same stuff. It seems like the one time you assume there will be shampoo they provide everything but  :(  I've started stocking up on travel size toiletaries for my trips later this year.

    Re: Hotel products.

I have stayed in some pretty classy hotels due to my hubby's business and have always used the soap and shampoo that have been supplied in the room.  I have not had any problem with them at all and have brought them home if they are half empty (they only throw them away at that point - so why not use up the rest at home?  Using their products is much easier than schlepping along your own if you are only going over night!
