    Wheelchairs on Cruises?

One of the group that I used to cruise with is currently wheelchair bound following a car wreck that broke her knee amongst other things. She still wants to join the rest of the group though and take the annual cruise. What are disabled facilities like on cruises, and do you think she'll be ok?

Ok I thought that I responded to this, Unless I just went crazy or something. But anyway. Wheelchairs are not an issue when crusing. They have chair ramps and rails so, your friend wouldn't have a problem at all. You may want to tell her to make sure that her travel agent make sure that her trip is planned around her being in a wheelchair.

I never knew than cruises provide any wheel chairs for disabled person. Actually I have not seen like that yet. They wont have problem if you take one with you I think.

Handicapped people don't have problems when going on cruises, my grandmother went on one and she was in a wheelchair, so I don't believe that there is a cruise boat that don't take people in chairs.

Thank you. We have been away from the PC for a couple of days, visiting New York, so I didn't see this. She is going to contact her agent.

Almost all cruises have medical facilities and equipments especially in case of emergencies. It's a cruise policy to provide a safe, healthy, secure and caring ship environment for both passengers and crew. Cruises have Infusion pump, nebulizer, wheelchair, stretcher and more.

The brochure you got when you were booking will probably have a comprehensive list of facilities. I was researching cruises a few months ago and I noticed that the facilities listed on most European lines were invariably very good when it came to accomodating wheelchairs.

I think most are like that, now if you were to be taking a bus then you may have a couple of issue but not really with a cruise.
