Does anyone know anything about this company? Mostly I want to know how they get their cars and are they safe. I've heard some interesting rumors about them and want to check them out before I get behind the wheel. They are very cheap but why are they so cheap...?

Ive never heard of them but you prompted me to do some further research and wow they do seem like a cheap alternative. Please let me know how it goesi f you end up using them. Anyway from what i could tell they are all over the world so that means i suppose that they are a tight company with some kind of corporate infrastructure and not some random shop in some back alley downtown, ya know? Also, you might want to read the reviews i found on epinions.com. They really don't seem so bad. It might be worth a try.

I used to use them exclusively. They will rent to people under 25, which is a plaus. they require you to pay a huge sur-charge however.  The cars they rent are older models 1-2 years, rather than brand new models like other rental agencies, thus the deep discounts.

It really is. I used them for the most part when I was carless. They're great for when your car is in the shop. Not sure Id pick them for a "travel" car. But in city driving when Im travelling, sure.

They are one of the few rental companies that will allow you to rent with a Debit card vs. a Credit Card.  They saved my life when my car broke down and I desperatley needed a ride to work.  Plus their rates are wonderful.

We used them in San Antonio when Avis lost our reservation and had nothing for us in our price range. (They didn't even offer a free upgrade or anything - and were rather snooty about it. I think they thought we were lying about having reservations at all. But that's another topic!)

Anyway, Rent A Wreck were terrific. Very friendly and helpful - they even came out and picked us up at the Avis location!

I'm going to have to try them out next time I travel.  I had never heard of them, but they sound promising.

I've used Wrent A Wreck with no problems. Once I didn't have a credit card and my mother rented it for me, over the phone, and in another state too.

All they asked was that I bring a copy of her i.d. and a letter signed by her, saying it was okay for them to rent me the car under her name.

I had the car for a few days and had no problems with it at all.

I've seen Rent A Wreck lots in Toronto too, but I've never rented from them yet.

Rent A Wreck has been in business for over 25 years. Infact, it's the largest and oldest used car rental agency in the U.S. This company last longer compared to others. It simple proved that they have a good quality services that satisfy customers. Until now the business still on going, therefore most customer trusted Rent A Wreck. Why not see it for yourself? 

 

 

Nope never heard about them but that sounds cheap as heck. I wish i had one of those down here.

The big question for me is, why choose a name like that? The name hardly inspires confidence, so unless it was purely meant as a grab your attention name, then I don't understand. It would seem that it would be bad for business.

Yeah that is kind of a funky name to go with, But I think what they do is take wrecked cars and fix them and in turn rent them out to you. I wouldn't think that they would be allow to rent something to you that wasn't safe and or up to part. They would go against state regulations.
