    Gas or no Gas?

This is something that still makes me laugh, at the memory. One of my trips-might have been Finland, I was drinking bottled water. Went out to dinner the one night and was served my spring water in the carbonated form. Yuck to say the least.

When we called over the water, he looked at us like we had grown a second said. "Nooooooo!" he said. "American's say, 'No gas, no gas!'".

Ever had that kind of lack of understanding?

I've tried carbonated water before and the taste is good. But I still prefer natural water for my daily drinks. I remembered my little sister in her first time of drinking carbonated water in a restaurant. After she tasted the carbonated water, she said to the waitress " Don't you remember I ordered water not Sprite?" I just laughed in silent.

Thankfully I'm not bothered either way when it comes to water, but I do have some fussy friends, so I usually order either Still Water, or Sparkling Water when at the bar - usually the staff understand what I mean.

I cannot STAND sparkling water. Perrier is awful. I cannot see a sensible reason for taking perfectly good, nice tasting water, and adulterating it like that.

I LOVE gas water. But my friends who aren't used to it hate it to say the least. And I can understand that. I mean, I probably love it because I spent my childhood in Europe and basically grew up drinking it.
