    Day Travel or Night Travel?

When you have a trip planned, or that you are planning, do you try and aim the bulk of your on the road/rails/air time for day time or night time? Do you like to take in the view as you travel, or do you prefer to try and sleep? Which messes with your life the least?

Re: Day Travel or Night Travel?

I prefer to travel during the day where possible - even sometimes if that means going down the day before and staying overnight.  I have been known to travel overnight if budget means there's no other option, but I hate that if it means I'm rushing around.

After a long jouney I need a nice walk to stretch my legs, and time to change and grab a shower.  If I can't have that I'm a grouch the entire day.

I like to do late afternoon travel.  That way I have the morning to get ready, then I can travel and get to my sdestination for a good nights sleep before I hit the town totally refreshed in the morning.

Mine is more like morning travel. I wake up at dawn and head out so by afternoon I reach my destination. Most of the times I do that to avoid traffic so if I were traveling my plane or train it may be at a different time. I don't really care either way.

I can see how that would work well for some one Lola.  Too bad I am not a morning person though, absolutely would not travel if I had to do it in the early morning.
