What do people think of hotels with shared wash rooms?

The Hotel Formule 1 has these - there is a basin in the room, but that's all, if you want a shower there is one shower per floor.

I'm not really a fan of the idea, but everywhere else I could afford was booked up :(

In your experience, are shared wash rooms OK?  Do you get long, or is there always a massive queue to use the shower?

I don't know that we have a lot of those around here where I live, but yes, I have heard of these.  As for me, I don't think that I would like to stay in something like this.  I don't really care if I get a jaccuzi tub or anything, but I do enjoy having a washroom in my suite.  I am wondering how common these are?

If I have to share a hotel bathroom while I am staying I am definitely not going to share a room.  If it some place like a bed and bath or a hostel, well then that can be expected. 

The only bathroom I have ever had to share like that, was in the dorms during the early college years.
