I had friends go on a cruise and all their daughter kept saying was that she thought their trip was going to end up like the 'Titanic'. It took a few days for the parents to calm her down!
Certainly these days, there are many more safety features on board cruise ships, but has anything like this crossed your mind before taking a trip? How do you deal with it? I am just curious.
I spoke to someone who worked on a cruise ship as an entertainer, and it was a very interesting conversation.
For example, I was surprised to learn that cruise ships have morgues onboard. Obviously they're a necessity in the event someone dies at sea.
Also there's the possibility of falling overboard. My friend said that there were times when someone would be missing and the ship would alter its course, trying to find someone.
I've seen the falling overboard situations in movies, but don't know of any that happened in real life.
Interesting tidbit about the morgue, though. I had no idea, but I guess it makes sense.
