    oh my goodness!

I went to the Red roof in last and I had to the worst experience, It was like the housekeeper didn't even clean the room, it smelled and it had dirty sheets on it still, I was outraged.

Haha, and how much did you pay for that? I also had such problem once. We paid about 50% of the original charge.

    Re: oh my goodness!

It must be Red Roof Inns.  That seems to happen a lot around here.  They seem to be very unclean.  Maybe that is why their rates are cheaper than most.

Ha! i see you found that funny, lol. I actually got the room for free that time after I complained about what happened. But still I would never do that one again ever.

They have a really terrible reputation here too. I have never stayed there myself because of that, given that there was always another two or three hotels within a minute or two drive of it. Didn't seem worth the risk.

That rooms are very disgusting. I wondered what kind of service they are giving to their guests. I think the Management can't afford to pay a housekeeper.

    Re: oh my goodness!

They probably pay the housekeepers too little. In that kind of job, good pay is a huge motivator when dealing with other peoples dirt. I mean, it's not a nice job. You get what you pay for, and if you pay little you get little in return.

We have never stayed at a Red Roof Inn... actually after reading through the postings in this

thread, I highly doubt that we ever will!  Thank you for the heads up about it.

    Re: oh my goodness!

Yep it is a good idea NOT to stay at a Red Roof Inn.  They are pretty bad from what I have seen and heard.  And there is actually one in my town too but I never see too many people staying there.

That bad part about it is. I wouldn't stay in it even if they left me stay for free.Wow, is that bad!!!!

    Re: oh my goodness!

I'm not familiar with that chain of hotels - are they just American or something? I've stayed in independant hotels that were really bad, but I've been lucky with the more well known hotels. If I ended up in one as bad as you described I think I would have just stayed up all night, or found another hotel.

    Re: oh my goodness!

I believe that it is a chain of hotels only located in the states. I haven't seen or heard them being anywhere outside of the USA

    Re: oh my goodness!

Well they are a chain I'll be avoiding after reading that thread!  I know you can't expect much from a cheaper hotel, but surely a clean room isn't that much to ask for?

    Re: oh my goodness!

I have seen these on my travels, but have not stayed in them.  Did they offer you any sort of explanation for their unkemptness? Any discounts?  Did you complain?  I think this experience would have called for a strongly worded letter so at least the 'powers that be' were made aware of the situation.
