    No toilet

Ohhh lets try this one, who has rode a bus and the dang on toilet was out of order? The next stop is not for hours and then when you do get to the next stop there is no bathroom there. Oh my, that was the story of my life for a while while traveling on the bus. I just thought my luck worked against me

    Re: No toilet

That can be a pain if there is not a toilet in working order.  This is especially true for a long trip where there aren't many stops close together.

A pain!! I thought my bladder was going to bust. I actually thought I was going to pee on myself and that would have been more than embarassing. I think that was when I stopped taking buses for a while.

    Re: No toilet

I always just assume there won't be a toilet and go before I leave. I've travelled on some pretty bad coaches where the facilities aren't the kind of thing you'd want to use unless you were really, really desperate :(

    Re: No toilet

I know i could have used the bathroom before i left but most of my trips were long to the point where eventually I was going to have to use it again. I try to hold it until i get somewhere outside of the bus but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Yeah, I hate long trips like that :(  Especially if the coach operator doesn't believe in letting passengers off at the fuel stops.  Sometimes I think the companies consider passengers to be cattle, not human beings.

Oh, I feel your pain!  I try and go to the bathroom just before boarding the bus and try not too drink a whole lot during the trip either.  But sometimes, a trip to the bathroom just cannot be helped!  Stories like these make you not want to travel on a bus for any long length of time though!

    Re: No toilet

I'm relieved to say I've never had that kind of an experience before! I mean yes, I've had to wait a couple of hours but the toilet was always there and in order when I got to the destination. But I can just imagine...

    Re: No toilet

I have never had to sit through a long bus trip without  a bathroom but I did have to sit very close to malfunctioning toilets on a plane ride.  Smelled like a port a potty for hours.

    Re: No toilet

I guess, by all means, the airplane toilets are the best... although they are incredibly small and deafening!

    Re: No toilet

I know you could only do so much to prepare for a trip without the facilities, but I'd try to hydrate myself earlier by drinking plenty of water, and having enough time to relieve myself before getting on the bus, hopefully.

That's what I try to do in some work situations where there isn't a toilet on site, but you have to start early enough so you can use the washrooms enough before going to the remote sites.
