Zazhal:Well, you said no cities, but I almost have to put in a plug for my hometown, Dayton. If you want culture we (surprisingly to many) have got it. The Art Institute (http://www.daytonartinstitute.org/) is a must-visit (but careful, you can get lost inside!), and there's usually something a show on at the Schuster Center (http://www.schustercenter.org/). We've got a handful of good restaurants, too.
If you're looking for something less urban, well, I can't be of much help. But, for what it's worth, we are near Amish country.
Dayton sounds cool, thank you! I don't consider it one of the bigger cities, but if I'm wrong about that, please let me know.
I just meant no HUGE cities like DC or NYC where driving is not such a great idea if one values life and limb. Culture would be what I look for, yes. What kinds of shows does the Schuster Center offer?
