Does anyone have any experience with the Le Meridien hotel in Cairo?  There are views of

the pyramids from some of the rooms and from other areas around the hotel.  It looks

fabulous, but I like to hear personal recommendations, too. 

Not personally but a woman in my congregation went there a few years back. I will have to check with her that I am thinking of the right place, but compared to some of the places she has stayed, I don't recall her having anything negative to say about it.

Egypt is too far from my place. Do you think it's not too hot in there? I've seen lots of pictures of pyramids in Egypt but I don't have any idea how Cairo Hotel looks like.

Well now, that sounds like a pretty good recommendation to me.  It really does look

like a lovely hotel but I realize that they'd naturally try to make it look that way online,

so I still look for rec's from people who've been there.   

I won't see her until Sunday, and I can talk to her then. I recall her being pretty vocal about other places that she has had less than perfect experiences; I guess when you are paying that kind of money you REALLY expect to get the best-certainly for the tours that she has taken that has been her attitude.

The rooms can get expensive, yes, but they start at about $125 USD and I've paid more than that for less-than-stellar US hotels.  For the best amenities and best views, it can go over $400 a night, though... I'd go for somewhere in the middle.
