    How far would you go?

What's the limit to the distance you would go if bus was your form of transportation?  I've gone about a thousand miles, but in retrospect, it may not have been the best choice.  Smile

Re: How far would you go?

Destiny, these days I can't imagine riding more than a few hours at a stretch on a bus. If it was the only way I could get there, I'd have to take just a carry on bag so I could get off the bus as often as possible and get back on another (later) bus if need be.

wouldn't you just love to beeeeeeeeeee me? "-)

The last few buses I've been on have been quite nice. I'd try going on a trip for several hours, maybe even a thousand miles.

It's been a long time since I was on one for more than a couple of hours, though.

Re: How far would you go?

The farthest that I've ever ridden on a bus was 60 miles and that was a long time ago.  My grandmother used to ride about 200 miles on one to come and visit us and she was fine with that.  I don't know if I would ride one very far if I decided to ride one these days.

Yes, it may not really be so bad... I think I'd like it better if I could sleep for 7 or 8 hours overnight.  That might be easier than riding straight through.  Smile

Yeah, that would be ideal. I suppose you could plan to do that if you stopped overnight in a major hub?

Well, I meant sleeping all those hours on the bus, but now that I'm thinking about it, that would be pretty close to impossible probably.  Big Smile

Re: How far would you go?

Not sure of the distance, but I've done Newcastle to London (which takes between 5 and 7 hours depending on traffic and lengths of breaks).

I was thinking of doing some interstate greyhound stuff next time I go to the USA, but to be honest I'm not sure if I could.

I feel terrible at the end of a 7 hour coach trip in the UK. In anywhere warmer I'd probably end up really ill :(

I've been there... it was not pleasant!  It was a guided tour and of course the bus had

air conditioning, BUT the a/c broke down in the deep south and it was July and VERY hot.  Sad

Re: How far would you go?

I've been all of two hours. You have to remember though that I came from a country that was only as big as most of the states here, and there just wasn't that much driving to be done. Since I came to America, I haven't travelled by bus.

Re: How far would you go?

I have ridden on a bus from PA to Florida.  That was enough for me.  And to be honest I would not want to go that distance on a bus again.  It was a long, long trip.

Re: How far would you go?

It took me 6 hours of travelling by bus from my hometown to the province of my grandparents. It's a non-stop travel. I can't imagine simply sitting in the bus for 6 hours.

Re: How far would you go?

I can go upto 7 hour without break. I mean the non-stop travel. More than that can be boring and I have travelled for more than 7 hour yet.
