I don't travel a whole lot, but I wonder how people that do, deal with the time changes in accordance to their bodies? Do you take anything to help you sleep? I have been taking the herb Melatonin for other sleep issues, but I have heard that this is also good for jet lag.
What does everyone else do? Here are some pointers that I have come accross:
- avoid alcohol and caffene before and during the flight as they can cause you to become dehydrated. Drink plenty of fluids!
- reset the time to the time zone that you will be travelling to so that you body can adjust (if you are trying to sleep, darken your area by wearing a hoodie or the like.)
- walk around and get some exercise. Also you will want to consider wearing comfortable clothing to allow for this.
If the time zone is much different than yours, you may want to consider arriving a few days ahead (especially if you are taking part in business.)
Have a nice flight!
