Hotel Finisterra is located on the very tip of the Baja California peninsula
and combines great style, a magical setting and modern comforts to provide you
with an unforgettable vacation. The hotel is perched on top of a hill, so
you'll feel a sense of peace and privacy as you gaze out over the ocean or
relax on the seven acre private beach. Yet downtown Cabo San Lucas is only a
walk away, and you're only thirty-five minutes from the airport. You'll love
the hotel. It's an architectural landmark, built into the cliff and widely
acclaimed for the detailed stonework and the way it seems to fit naturally into
the surrounding landscape. Right on the secluded private beach you'll find the
luxurious, modern Beach Club annex with superb accommodation and a beautiful
pool.
There's a great choice of accommodation, all with amazing views
- how could it be otherwise in a setting as special as this? - of the Sea of
Cortez or the Pacific Ocean. You would expect something a bit special inside
such an amazing building and Hotel Finisterra won't disappoint. The interior
design is authentically Mexican and perfectly captures the magical ambience of
Baja. All rooms have color TV, full air conditioning and a private balcony so
you can sit under the open sky drinking in the views with your complimentary
welcome cocktail. The Palappa Beach Club accommodation is particularly
luxurious - and you could hardly get closer to the beach! Enjoy the decadence
of a marble bathroom and relax in your own intimate living area. These rooms
have spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and you'll find your private patio
is the best spot to sit and sip a refreshing drink as you watch the evening sun
dissolve into reds and purples as it sinks below the ocean horizon. There's
even a mini-refrigerator bar to keep that evening drink and snacks chilled.
For the ultimate in luxury opt for a Palappa Beach Suite. These
one-bedroom, 1400 square foot suites offer two private balconies. You're on the
top floor of the Beach Club so the panoramic views of the private beach and
Pacific Ocean are unbeatable. There is ample room for your king-sized bed and
you'll have a sitting room with sleeper sofa as well as kitchen facilities for
those occasions when you want to dine in complete privacy or just fix yourself
your favorite snack.
It would be a shame not to take advantage of Hotel Finisterra's
excellent dining facilities, though. The much-praised Blue Marlin Restaurant
offers exquisite traditional food that shows Mexican cuisine in a completely
different light: a meal here will satisfy the most demanding gourmet. For more
casual dining visit the poolside Palappa Restaurant. Sunset at the Whale
Watcher Bar is not to be missed as it boasts one of the best views in all of
Cabo.
There's a full range of facilities at Hotel Finisterra: car
rental, a boutique, a gymnasium and two lit tennis courts for exercise, the
sauna for unwinding and massage by appointment to help you really relax. Daily
activities are also organized: volleyball if you're feeling particularly
energetic, but also Spanish classes and cookery. The concierge desk will help
you get the most out of you vacation by organizing off-site activities for you.
They'll arrange diving and snorkeling if you want to see the underwater
sandfalls or a game fishing trip with Solmar Fleet taking advantage of their
state-of-the-art, coveted sport fishing boats. They can also organize hire of
dinghies, motor yachts or glass-bottomed boats if you want to do some cruising
or sightseeing in the beautiful waters of Los Cabos or all-terrain vehicles for
exploring on dry land. There are plenty of sightseeing opportunities too: El
Arco, the dramatic rock arch of Land's End and Lover's Beach are only a short
distance away and the twin towns of Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Jose will
provide many hours happy browsing for shoppers. Popular day trips include a
visit to Todos Santos, a quaint Mexican town untouched by modern life with a
historic Mission and the famous Hotel California.
Golfers love Los Cabos and Hotel Finisterra will be happy to
arrange for you to play any of the nearby courses. There are - count them! -
three Jack Nicklaus courses. Only fifteen minutes from the hotel is Cabo del
Sol with seven beachfront holes and a new 18-hole Weiskopf course. Slightly
further away are the Hotel Palmilla course covering hills overlooking the sea
of Cortez and the El Dorado course which boasts 9 or 18 holes to challenge even
the best. Robert Trent Jones II designed the Cabo Real course and at the Cabo
San Lucas Country club only ten minutes from the hotel there's a driving range
as well as 9 and 18-hole courses.
Hotel Finisterra is a beach resort with personality, and it's a
stylish, Mexican personality.
