The Canyons Village is doing its best in trying
to reinvent itself. The village is situated in the heart of the
dramatic Wasatch Mountains in Utah and is the perfect choice for anyone who
loves rugged mountain landscapes. Whether you simply want to let the inspiring
surroundings soothe your spirit or you're planning on some serious outdoor
action the Sundial Lodge Resort will make your vacation one to remember.
Sundial Lodge offers state-of-the-art comfort with all the
atmosphere of a mountain lodge. There's a real variety of accommodations so
there will be something for everyone from singles through couples on a romantic
break to families and groups of friends. There are guest rooms, studios and
condominium style apartments, some with multiple bedrooms. All rooms are
luxuriously furnished. The emphasis here is very much on home comforts and
modern technology. As a minimum you can expect elegant dishes, a coffee maker
and modern kitchen appliances, including a washer and dryer so you can return
your outdoor gear to service in record time after a strenuous day in the
mountains. You'll also have dual phone lines with fax and modem capability. For
evenings when you just want to chill out with a bowl of popcorn there's cable
television and a video player. Most condominiums have a fireplace to provide
that final cozy touch and a balcony. The whirlpool bath is bliss for soaking
away the aches and pains after a day's sport - by the end of your vacation
you'll wonder how you ever managed without one.
The art of relaxation is taken seriously at Sundial Lodge:
there's a rooftop hot tub and plunge pool for everyone to enjoy. If that’s not
enough, The Grand Summit Resort Hotel Club and Spa is also available for
serious pampering. If you've never tried hot stone therapy, cocoa steams, salt
glow or a self-heating mud pedicure now is the time to indulge yourself.
Qualified therapists offer a choice of massage options: deep relaxation to
release tension or sports massage to relax tired muscles and help you recover
for another day's adventures. Treatments take place in a private room by the
glow of candlelight to the accompaniment of peaceful music and last up to
ninety minutes. If you haven’t the energy or inclination to stray too far,
in-room service is available and there's a special couples massage treatment.
Sundial Lodge is a four season resort so whenever you come to
stay there'll be plenty to do. The Flight of The Canyons gondola is a magical
way to start. Take the scenic ride to Red Pine Lodge at mid-mountain - an
8000ft elevation for lunch in the Red Pine Cafe. Hikers and mountain bikers can
ride to a mid-mountain destination and will be thrilled to discover that the
top of the gondola ride is just yards from the renowned Mid-Mountain trail,
which traverses The Canyons to link up with the town of Park City. There are
lots of other hiking and biking trails to explore either on your own or with a
guided group. If you want to explore on two wheels rather than two feet Canyon
Mountain Sports will rent you a top-of-the-range KONA bike so that you get the
best out of the network of single-track trails on the doorstep. Kids’ sizes are
available and as you'd expect there's plenty of expert advice and help on hand
for minor repairs. If all this is too much rushing around for your idea of a
relaxing vacation let the experts teach you the art of casting a rod - or if
you're already a pro they'll guide you to the best spots for fishing.
Of course you don't have to do anything at all; floating in a
hot air balloon you'll get breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys
below - it's a wonderfully calming experience, yet at the same time you'll be
awed by the drama of the very special landscape.
Although Utah has a reputation as a 'dry', austere state, Park
City helps to strike some balance. There's everything from casual family
eateries to award-winning gourmet restaurants as well as plenty of bars and
clubs, whether you want to listen to live music or relax in the corner of a
quiet wine bar you won't be disappointed.
In the winter, come back to Sundial Lodge for superb skiing and
snowboarding. There's cross-country skiing on groomed trails, while the
non-skiers can explore on guided snowshoe tours or by snowmobile. Everyone will
enjoy the thrill of speeding down the Olympic bobsled run in an authentic
competition bobsled.
After you've vacationed in The Canyons your only problem will
persuading yourself to try somewhere different next time!
